Until today, surveying bridge, structure and infrastructure safety has been extremely time consuming and costly.
Today, such routine surveys of bridges are carried out in order to track their structural condition to detect defects and damages. Bridge surveys are carried out with direct visual examinations by specially trained surveyors (bridge engineers by profession) that are assisted by equipment such as ladders, ropes, scaffolding or cranes. However, these instruments do not always enable convenient access to structural components of bridges and using them is extremely dangerous and continuously disruptive of the flow of traffic. It is also especially difficult to survey tall bridges this way.
ALTA, in collaboration with “Advanced Solutions” have been active in surveying the bridges throughout Route 6, Route 431 and the Carmel Tunnels, and operated among the most advanced drones and licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority.
